Probiotic–prebiotic–postbiotic innovations and spore-forming strain Clostridium butyricum IDCC 1301 at Japan’s largest health ingredients exhibition
ILDONG Bioscience, the functional ingredient subsidiary of ILDONG Pharmaceutical Group (249420), announced its successful participation in Hi (Health ingredients) Japan 2025, where the company introduced its next-generation probiotic solutions and sought new business collaborations.
Held from October 15 to 17 at Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center, Hi Japan is the country’s largest trade fair dedicated to health ingredients and functional food raw materials. This year’s event brought together more than 650 exhibitors from around the world, showcasing the latest innovations in the health and wellness sector.
During the exhibition, ILDONG Bioscience presented a wide portfolio of proprietary probiotic strains and advanced processing technologies, including its signature 4-layer Q-Shield® coating, as well as its CDMO and ODM service capabilities.
Among its showcased innovations, PPP Probiotics—a unique formulation that combines Probiotics, Prebiotics, and Postbiotics—attracted strong interest from visitors.
Probiotics are live beneficial microorganisms that support gut health.
Prebiotics are functional substances that help beneficial bacteria grow and thrive.
Postbiotics refer to the bioactive compounds produced by probiotics, known for their role in gut–immune modulation and various health benefits.
Recognizing the strong market demand in Japan for butyrate-producing bacteria, ILDONG Bioscience also introduced its spore-forming probiotic strain Clostridium butyricum IDCC 1301, part of the company’s BIOVITA® strain portfolio. This strain is supported by extensive research data and patents related to inflammatory bowel disease.
Its protective spore structure ensures survival through the gastrointestinal tract and demonstrates excellent heat stability up to 90 °C, offering a strong competitive edge in formulation and product development.
