Company highlights probiotics and postbiotics technologies while pursuing global expansion
Ildong Bioscience, a health functional food subsidiary of Ildong Pharmaceutical Group (CEO: Oh Hyun Ban), announced on the 27th that it participated in Vitafoods Europe 2025, promoting its functional ingredients and seeking to strengthen its presence in the global market.
Vitafoods Europe is the largest health and nutrition trade fair in Europe, attracting more than 20,000 industry professionals from 120 countries. This year’s event was held in Barcelona, Spain, from May 20 to 22.
During the exhibition, Ildong Bioscience emphasized its competitive strengths in probiotics and postbiotics, including advanced four-layer coating technology designed to enhance stability and efficacy. The company also held multiple partnering meetings with global companies to explore opportunities for collaboration and overseas market expansion.
According to Ildong Bioscience, its portfolio of more than 20 ingredients with U.S. GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status, along with Halal and Kosher-certified raw materials, drew strong interest from international visitors.
The company noted that, in addition to achieving steady growth in Asia and North America, it has recently expanded exports to European markets such as Spain and Greece. Moving forward, it plans to pursue locally tailored strategies to broaden its client base and diversify its product portfolio.
Founded in 2016 under Ildong Holdings, Ildong Bioscience leverages Ildong Pharmaceutical’s proprietary probiotics technology and infrastructure. The company is engaged in the development of functional ingredients and finished products utilizing probiotics and postbiotics, as well as CDMO services and raw material supply.
