Recognized for global achievements by MAFRA and aT, including reaching $7 million in annual exports
Ildong Bioscience, a health functional food affiliate of Ildong Pharmaceutical Group, announced on the 24th that it has been selected as a recipient of the "K-Food+ Export Tower," organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT).
The "K-Food+ Export Tower" is an award established to recognize and reward companies that have contributed to market vitalization and export growth across the agri-food and related industries. This year’s ceremony was held on the 23rd at the aT Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
Ildong Bioscience was recognized for its contributions to pioneering global markets and expanding exports in the healthcare material and product sectors, achieving an annual export performance of $7 million from the fourth quarter of last year to the third quarter of this year.
Based on its proprietary technology, Ildong Bioscience develops and introduces a variety of probiotics and postbiotics related to gut health, skin immunity, cholesterol improvement, and body fat reduction.
Currently, the company is receiving a positive response not only in Asian markets, including Thailand and Malaysia, but also in North American regions such as the United States and Canada. Recently, it has been generating significant results by expanding its export channels to European countries, including Spain and Greece.
Furthermore, the company meets strict global market standards, holding certifications such as U.S. self-affirmed GRAS, Health Canada NHP registration, and Halal and Kosher certifications. Leveraging its top-tier domestic probiotics manufacturing infrastructure, Ildong Bioscience is actively expanding its business in Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), Original Design Manufacturing (ODM), and raw material supply.
"Based on our R&D competitiveness in the probiotics field, which includes data on over 5,000 strains and core technologies, we plan to continuously develop various functional materials and products," an Ildong Bioscience official stated. "We will actively pursue global expansion by identifying business partners and implementing localization strategies."
